Job Title: Mechanical TechnicianJob DescriptionThe Mechanical Technician installs, relocates, upgrades, disassembles, and reassembles machinery in industrial and manufacturing plants. This role focuses on setting up production lines and conveyor systems, performing steel fabrication and welding, and supporting daily operations by moving materials and gathering tooling. Responsibilities • Disassemble and reassemble machinery and equipment in industrial plants to support relocation, upgrades, and maintenance activities. • Install and align production lines, conveyor systems, and related mechanical equipment in manufacturing environments. • Perform steel fabrication and welding using MIG and stick welding techniques as required for equipment installation and modification. • Move materials, components, and equipment safely around the job site to support installation and maintenance work. • Gather, organize, and maintain necessary tooling and equipment to ensure efficient execution of mechanical tasks. • Use hand tools and basic welding tools to perform mechanical assembly, adjustments, and repairs. • Follow site-specific safety procedures and industry best practices while working in industrial and manufacturing facilities. • Collaborate with other technicians and site personnel to complete projects on schedule and to quality standards. • Demonstrate willingness to learn and perform millwright-related tasks under guidance, including machinery alignment and installation. • Travel to various client sites within approximately a one-hour radius of Lima, Ohio, as project needs require. Essential Skills • Demonstrated mechanical ability and aptitude for working with industrial machinery and equipment. • Experience using hand tools for mechanical assembly, installation, and repair. • Ability to install machinery, production lines, and conveyor systems in industrial or construction environments. • Basic experience with MIG and stick welding for steel fabrication and equipment installation. • Capability to move materials and handle tooling safely in an industrial setting. • Willingness to learn millwright work, including machinery installation and alignment. • Reliability in working full-time schedules, typically Monday through Friday, 40+ hours per week. • Ability to travel to job sites within approximately a one-hour radius of Lima, Ohio. Additional Skills & Qualifications • Experience in industrial construction or equipment installation environments. • Familiarity with conveyor systems and production line setup. • Possession of basic hand tools and welding tools is preferred, and the specific tools available will be discussed prior to placement. • Residence in or near the Lima, Ohio area to facilitate local travel to job sites. The environment involves active job sites with machinery, production lines, and conveyor systems, where you use hand tools, welding equipment, and other mechanical tools. You work on your feet, handling materials and equipment in a setting that follows established safety procedures and industrial work practices. Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Lima, OH. Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $20.00 - $25.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
