Job Title: Facilities Maintenance TechnicianJob DescriptionThe Facilities Maintenance Technician ensures that building systems, apartments, and common areas are well maintained, safe, and presentable by completing maintenance work orders, tenant service requests, and preventive maintenance tasks in a timely and professional manner.Responsibilities
• Complete maintenance work orders and tenant service requests promptly, ensuring high-quality workmanship and customer satisfaction. • Perform preventive maintenance on building systems and equipment to reduce downtime and extend asset life. • Troubleshoot and repair electrical, plumbing, HVAC, lighting, and mechanical issues throughout the property. • Repair building components such as drywall, flooring, doors, locks, and windows to maintain a safe and attractive environment. • Conduct routine property inspections to identify maintenance needs and safety concerns before they become issues. • Prepare apartments or spaces for new occupants, including painting, minor renovations, and ensuring all fixtures and systems are in working order. • Maintain grounds and common areas to ensure a clean, safe, and professional appearance for residents and visitors. • Coordinate with vendors and contractors on larger projects and repairs, ensuring work is completed to required standards. • Document all completed work and maintain accurate maintenance and service records in accordance with property procedures. Essential Skills
• Experience in facilities or building maintenance with hands-on responsibility for repairs and upkeep. • Strong ability to troubleshoot and repair electrical, plumbing, HVAC, lighting, and mechanical systems. • Proficiency in general building repair, including drywall, flooring, doors, locks, and windows. • HVAC knowledge and practical skills applicable to residential or commercial properties. • EPA-related knowledge or certification applicable to HVAC and refrigerant handling. • Ability to complete preventive maintenance tasks systematically and follow established maintenance schedules. • Skill in conducting property inspections and accurately identifying maintenance needs. • Capability to coordinate effectively with vendors and contractors on maintenance projects. • Competence in documenting work performed and maintaining organized maintenance records. The environment involves regular use of building systems, HVAC equipment, basic hand and power tools, and standard maintenance materials. The position requires moving between units and common spaces, working both indoors and outdoors, and occasionally coordinating with external vendors and contractors. Attire should be appropriate for maintenance work, allowing safe use of tools and equipment and presenting a professional appearance to residents and visitors. Job Type & LocationThis is a Permanent position based out of Rochester, NY. Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $20.00 - $30.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
