About this role

Job Title: CNC MachinistJob DescriptionWe are seeking a skilled CNC Machinist to join our machining department. In this role, you will be responsible for setting up and operating various CNC mills, lathes, and manual machines to produce a variety of components. This position requires hands-on involvement in machine setup, tooling adjustments, light programming edits, and quality inspections. You will work on shorter production runs, managing a mix of plastic and metal components, while ensuring the highest quality and efficiency standards. Responsibilities • Set up and operate CNC Mills (HAAS VF4), CNC Lathes (Okuma, ProtoTRAK), and Manual Bridgeport machines. • Perform tool changes, offsets, and adjust machine feeds, speeds, and tooling. • Read and interpret blueprints and GD&T. • Conduct light program edits and understand G & M code. • Support machine setup and prove-outs. • Run short production batches with frequent changeovers. • Perform in-process and final inspections using calipers and micrometers. • Load/unload parts and manage multiple machines as needed. • Troubleshoot machining or quality issues. • Collaborate with team members to maintain production flow. Essential Skills • 3+ years of CNC machining experience. • Experience with CNC setup, including offsets, tool changes, feed and speed adjustments. • Ability to work on both mills and lathes. • Basic understanding of G & M code. • Capability to edit programs at the machine. • Strong blueprint reading skills, with GD&T understanding preferred. • Proficiency in using precision measuring tools, such as micrometers and calipers. • Ability to work in a job shop or short-run style environment. • Comfortable running multiple machines and handling changeovers. Additional Skills & Qualifications • Experience with HAAS mills, Okuma lathes, ProtoTRAK machines, and Manual Bridgeport equipment. • CAM programming experience (Mastercam, Fusion, etc.). • Experience machining plastics. • Background in precision or custom manufacturing. • Experience in low-volume, high-mix environments. • Exposure to continuous improvement or lean manufacturing. The facility, while smaller, provides a nice environment for employees. Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Mentor, OH. Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $22.00 - $25.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
