About this role

Job summary

Senior Assistant Psychologist in an Adult Community Eating Disorder Service. GMMH Eating Disorder Service at the Willows provides a service to six localities in Greater Manchester.

We are experienced, compassionate & friendly team providing high quality evidence based assessment and interventions to people with a range of presentations.

This role will involve supporting our Early Intervention (FREED) pathways, delivering of individual CBT-T and other functions to support the service.

Person Specification

Qualifications Essential

An upper second-class honours degree or higher in psychology

Qualifications Essential

Entitlement to graduate membership of the British Psychological Society

Experience Essential

Experience of working with people who experience an eating disorder

Experience Essential

Previous experience of working as an assistant psychologist

Experience Desirable

Experience of delivering brief manualised psychological therapy interventions

Knowledge Essential

An understanding of the needs of people experiencing an Eating Disorder

Knowledge Essential

An understanding of key principles of Early Intervention & Engagement for people experiencing an Eating Disorder

Knowledge Essential

A practical understanding of key principles and engagement in Guided Self Help for Eating Disorders

Skills Essential

High level of communication skills both written and verbal, including in settings in which the atmosphere may be highly emotive

Competency to use a range of systems essential to the role including excel and MS Teams
