Electrical Technician - San Diego, CA - Immediately HiringJob Description

• As an Electrical Technician, you will be responsible for inspecting, testing, repairing, and troubleshooting electrical equipment at our shipyard facility and occasionally onboard vessels. You will also install and maintain electrical equipment according to shipyard needs and applicable standards. Responsibilities

• Inspect, test, repair, and troubleshoot electrical equipment. • Install and maintain electrical equipment in compliance with shipyard standards. • Mount equipment on foundations, cabinets, power panels, PLC controllers, and motor controllers. • Perform commissioning and testing functions for electrical equipment, including cold insulation checks, physical inspection, initial light off, and final operational testing. • Test and maintain equipment such as motors, generators, switchboards, power panels, MCCS, PLCs, tank level indicators, motor operated valves, fire detection systems, and HVAC controls. Essential Skills

• Experience in troubleshooting and repairing electrical equipment. • Ability to perform layout and electrical equipment installations. • Knowledge of electrical theory and wiring practices. • Ability to read cable and wire color codes for precise placement and hook-up. • Proficiency in reading blueprints and schematic diagrams. • Experience using electrical test equipment and hand/power tools. Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Proficiency with voltmeters, ohmmeters, and motor control circuits. • Experience with conduit, switchboards, HVAC systems, low voltage, and 3 phase wiring. • Ability to work 1st, 2nd, and/or 3rd shifts. • Capability to work at heights and comprehend written and verbal instructions. Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of San Diego, CA. Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $25.00 - $40.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
