You will contribute to banding, bundling, packaging, and general housekeeping to keep production running smoothly and safely. The position suits someone with hands-on manufacturing or general labor experience who enjoys physical work in a fast-paced environment.Responsibilities
• Operate machinery to bend metal tracks used in the production of garage doors, following safety and quality standards. • Assist with banding tasks to secure products and materials for storage and shipment. • Perform bundling of products using both manual methods and an electric strapping machine. • Shrink wrap bundles to prepare finished goods for transport and protect them during handling. • Support general production activities, including assembly, packaging, and material handling as needed. • Maintain a clean and organized work area by performing regular cleanup and housekeeping duties. • Follow all safety procedures and use required personal protective equipment while working on the production floor. • Collaborate with other operators and team members on the shift to meet production targets and timelines. • Inspect materials and finished products for obvious defects and report any issues to the appropriate person. Essential Skills
• At least 6 months of experience in a manufacturing, general labor, shop, or warehouse environment. • Experience with labor-intensive tasks such as production, assembly, or packaging. • Ability to operate or learn to operate manufacturing machinery safely and efficiently. • Capability to lift up to 50 pounds on a regular basis. • Comfort working in a fast-paced production setting with repetitive tasks. • Steel-toed work boots for use on the production floor. • Strong attention to safety and adherence to workplace procedures. • Reliability and punctuality for scheduled shifts. Additional Skills & Qualifications
• Previous experience operating machines in a manufacturing environment. • Familiarity with windows, doors, or similar building products manufacturing. • Experience using electric strapping machines or shrink wrapping equipment. • Ability to work both day and afternoon shifts as required. • Willingness to perform a variety of general labor tasks and support different areas of production. The day shift runs Monday to Friday from 6:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. (8-hour shifts), while the afternoon shift operates Monday to Thursday from 3:30 p.m. to 2:00 a.m. (10-hour shifts). The work involves operating machinery, handling materials, and performing manual tasks such as lifting up to 50 pounds, bundling, and packaging. You will use equipment such as bending machines, electric strapping machines, and shrink wrap tools. Steel-toed work boots are required as part of the safety-focused dress code. The environment is production-oriented and fast paced, with a strong emphasis on teamwork, safety, and meeting daily output goals. Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Abbotsford, BC. Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $20.40 - $21.00/hr.
