Job Title: Facilities HVAC LeadJob DescriptionThe Facilities HVAC Lead oversees day-to-day maintenance requests across multiple commercial facilities, providing hands-on technical support while supervising maintenance staff and coordinating vendor services. This role ensures that HVAC and related building systems operate safely, efficiently, and reliably, while delivering excellent service to internal and external stakeholders. Responsibilities • Serve as the lead mobile HVAC technician for building systems and infrastructure across assigned facilities. • Perform and oversee preventive maintenance on HVAC equipment and mechanical systems to minimize downtime and extend equipment life. • Diagnose, troubleshoot, and complete corrective maintenance on HVAC systems and related mechanical equipment. • Manage, prioritize, and complete maintenance work orders accurately, efficiently, and within established timelines. • Perform basic electrical repairs, including troubleshooting and minor corrective work on building electrical systems as needed. • Perform basic plumbing repairs, including troubleshooting and minor corrective work on facility plumbing systems as required. • Provide day-to-day guidance, direction, and supervision to maintenance staff to ensure high-quality workmanship and adherence to safety and operational standards. • Coordinate and oversee external vendors performing HVAC, mechanical, electrical, and other facility-related services. • Use appropriate hand tools, diagnostic instruments, and testing equipment to inspect, maintain, and repair building systems. • Communicate effectively with internal stakeholders and clients regarding maintenance status, issues, and resolutions. • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, work orders, and equipment condition. • Follow safety procedures while working on rooftops, ladders, and elevated areas, and while handling tools and equipment. Essential Skills • Minimum 7 years of hands-on experience in commercial facilities, including HVAC maintenance services. • Demonstrated experience with electrical, plumbing, and carpentry work in a facilities maintenance environment. • Proven supervisory skills with the ability to lead and guide maintenance staff and coordinate vendor activities. • Strong HVAC troubleshooting and repair skills for commercial building systems. • Strong customer service orientation with excellent interpersonal and communication skills. • Valid driver’s license, with the ability to operate a company-provided vehicle. • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds safely as part of daily duties. • Ability to climb stairs and ladders and to work safely on rooftops exceeding two stories. • Familiarity with hand tools, diagnostic instruments, and basic testing equipment used in HVAC and facilities maintenance. • Experience in facilities maintenance, including building maintenance, plumbing, electrical, mechanical, and general facilities work. Additional Skills & Qualifications • Full-time availability for a 40-hour workweek, Monday through Friday from 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. • Comfort working independently as a mobile technician while also collaborating with a broader maintenance team. • Organizational skills to manage multiple work orders and prioritize tasks in a dynamic environment. • Attention to detail in documenting work performed and reporting equipment conditions. • Commitment to safe work practices when working at heights, with tools, and around mechanical and electrical systems. Work EnvironmentThis is a full-time role based on a standard 40-hour workweek, Monday through Friday from 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. The position operates as a mobile facilities role, traveling between commercial sites using a company-provided vehicle. Work takes place in and around commercial buildings, including mechanical rooms, interior spaces, and rooftops exceeding two stories. The environment involves frequent use of hand tools, diagnostic instruments, and basic testing equipment for HVAC, electrical, plumbing, mechanical, and general building maintenance tasks. The role requires regular lifting of up to 50 pounds, climbing stairs and ladders, and working both indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions, with appropriate work attire suitable for field-based maintenance activities. Job Type & LocationThis is a Permanent position based out of Indianapolis, IN. Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $72800.00 - $93600.00/yr.
