Job Title: Field Service Technician / Field Service EngineerJob DescriptionThis position provides on-site technical support, installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting for an autonomous airport inspection robot deployed at major airports. You will work independently in the field, ensuring reliable operation of advanced automation equipment while delivering exceptional service to customers. The role combines hands-on mechanical, electrical, and software work with direct customer interaction and close collaboration with engineering and product teams.Responsibilities

• Install, test, commission, and maintain autonomous airport inspection robots at airports primarily in Atlanta and Dallas, with additional assignments in other international locations as needed. • Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and software issues to ensure optimal performance and minimal downtime. • Perform routine and preventive maintenance on equipment, documenting all work performed and parts used accurately. • Use diagnostic tools, schematics, and service manuals to identify root causes of technical problems and implement effective solutions. • Provide on-site technical support and hands-on training to customers on system operation, safety, and troubleshooting procedures. • Communicate clearly and proactively with customers to manage expectations, explain technical issues, and build strong long-term relationships. • Collaborate closely with engineering and product teams to report field issues, suggest improvements, and support ongoing product development. • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of product functionality, software updates, control systems, and relevant industry trends in automation and aviation. • Support remote diagnostics and troubleshooting activities where applicable, escalating issues appropriately when needed. • Travel extensively to customer sites, including international locations, and adapt to varying airport environments and operational requirements. Essential Skills

• Background in Automation, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical field; relevant hands-on experience may substitute for formal education. • Proven experience as a field service engineer, field service technician, maintenance technician, or in a similar technical field role. • Strong technical aptitude with demonstrated experience in mechanical troubleshooting, electrical systems, and maintenance of complex equipment. • Proficiency with diagnostic tools, schematics, wiring diagrams, and service manuals. • Experience with PLCs and control systems, including testing and troubleshooting of automated equipment. • Ability to diagnose and resolve mechanical, electrical, and software issues in the field with minimal supervision. • Excellent communication skills and a strong customer service mindset, with the ability to explain technical concepts clearly. • Ability to work independently, organize tasks effectively, and make sound decisions under time pressure. • Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel extensively, including international travel. • Ability to meet requirements for work in secure airport environments. Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience with remote diagnostics and support tools. • Familiarity with PLCs, industrial control systems, and software configuration. • Experience in the automation or aviation industry, particularly with autonomous systems or airport operations. • Multilingual abilities and comfort working in international environments. • Prior experience commissioning, testing, and maintaining robotic or autonomous equipment. • Exposure to both electrical and mechanical engineering practices in field service settings. • Strong problem-solving skills with a proactive and solution-oriented mindset. • Comfort working as the first local field representative in a new region, helping to establish processes and best practices. While in the U.S., you typically follow a regular Monday–Friday day shift. The environment is highly technical and operational, involving close interaction with airport infrastructure, automation systems, PLCs, and control software. You work around live airport operations, so you follow site-specific safety procedures and security protocols at all times. The position combines office-based tasks such as documentation and reporting with hands-on work on the equipment in the field, often requiring flexibility to move between different parts of the airport and adapt to varying conditions. Job Type & LocationThis is a Permanent position based out of Grapevine, TX. Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $72800.00 - $115000.00/yr.
