Job Title: Multi-Craft Maintenance TechnicianJob DescriptionThe Multi-Craft Maintenance Technician inspects, troubleshoots, repairs, and maintains material handling equipment, facility systems, and warehouse infrastructure to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient operations. This role combines mechanical and electrical maintenance, preventive maintenance, and minor building repairs while consistently following safety standards and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs).Responsibilities
• Inspect, troubleshoot, and repair material handling equipment to minimize downtime and maintain efficient warehouse operations. • Perform preventive maintenance on mechanical and electrical systems, including conveyors, motors, and related industrial equipment. • Diagnose and resolve issues involving hydraulics, pneumatics, and 3-phase electrical systems to keep equipment operating safely and effectively. • Use electrical and mechanical troubleshooting techniques, including reading blueprints and schematics, to identify root causes of equipment failures. • Work with programmable logic controllers (PLCs) and PLC controls to assist in troubleshooting automated systems and conveyors. • Install, adjust, and align equipment and components using appropriate hand tools and industrial maintenance practices. • Conduct minor building and facility repairs as needed to support overall warehouse and facility operations. • Follow GMP guidelines and all company safety standards, including use of required personal protective equipment and adherence to facility rules. • Collaborate with operations and logistics teams to support smooth material flow and timely completion of maintenance tasks. • Document maintenance work performed and communicate equipment status and issues clearly to supervisors and team members. • Manage time effectively to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced, multi-shift industrial environment. Essential Skills
• Industrial maintenance experience with both mechanical and electrical systems. • Strong electrical troubleshooting skills, including work with 3-phase power and electrical maintenance. • Mechanical troubleshooting skills for conveyors, motors, and other industrial equipment. • Experience with hydraulics and pneumatics in an industrial environment. • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and related technical documents. • Familiarity with PLC controls and PLC troubleshooting in automated systems. • Proficiency using hand tools for installation, repair, and maintenance tasks. • High School Diploma or GED, or equivalent experience. • Ability to stand, walk, bend, reach, twist, and lift for extended periods. • Comfort working in a fast-paced, multi-shift industrial environment. • Strong communication skills and the ability to manage time effectively. • Experience working in logistics, warehousing, or material handling environments. • Experience in industrial maintenance with exposure to newer equipment and automation. • Familiarity with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) in a production or packaging facility. • Interest in ongoing technical training and skill development through partnerships with high schools or technical schools. Initial training occurs on 1st shift for approximately one week to cover orientation. The facility is newer, clean, and well lit, with modern equipment and additional robotic arms being added by the end of the year. The work environment is industrial and fast paced, with occasional stronger odors depending on the product being packaged. The facility operates under strict GMP guidelines, requiring beard nets, hair nets, hearing protection, and prohibiting jewelry. It is a closed, non-smoking property, and technicians must adhere to all safety and attire requirements while working on site. Job Type & LocationThis is a Permanent position based out of Country Club Hills, IL. Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $72800.00 - $72800.00/yr.
