Job Title: Shop Foreman (2nd shift)Job DescriptionAs a Shop Foreman, you will be instrumental in forecasting goals and objectives for the department, ensuring vehicles remain in service. You will be responsible for hiring, training, motivating, counseling, and monitoring the performance of all service department staff while maintaining required reporting systems.Candidates who previously worked as a Service Advisor or Fleet Maintenance Supervisor will be prioritized. Responsibilities
• Forecast and strive to meet department goals and objectives. • Hire, train, motivate, counsel, and monitor the performance of service department staff. • Maintain reporting systems required by leadership. • Monitor and control department performance using appropriate KPIs. • Foster harmony and teamwork within the department and with customers. • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations affecting service operations, including hazardous waste disposal and OSHA Right-to-Know. • Ensure compliance with warranty and policy procedures. • Account for all documents, ensuring none are missing and all are processed correctly. • Conduct daily huddle meetings. • Direct and schedule activities of all department employees. • Facilitate and/or conduct technical training and send employees to appropriate training. • Monitor technician productivity/efficiency and other KPIs set by leadership. • Follow up on parts orders to ensure availability. • Maintain high-quality service repairs and minimize comebacks. • Conduct periodic spot checks of completed jobs for thoroughness and quality. • Recommend new equipment and tools as needed. • Ensure proper care, storage, and inventory of special tools. • Maintain a safe work environment and professional appearance. • Engage with vocational and technical schools and third-party vendors for personnel recruitment. • Perform other tasks as assigned. • At least 5 years of shop foreman experience. • Experience in department forecasting and maintenance supervision, particularly with electric vehicles (EV). Opportunities are available for 2nd and 3rd shifts. The training process includes a certified technical trainer, with initial training taking place in Arizona for two weeks. Training classes accommodate 6-9 people per session. Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract position based out of Los Angeles, CA. Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $40.00 - $50.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
