About this role

Job Title: General LaborJob DescriptionThis role involves physically demanding work in a busy manufacturing environment, loading metal automotive parts into machines, monitoring automated equipment, and performing quality checks. You will handle medium-weight parts frequently throughout your shift and ensure products are properly labeled and sorted according to part numbers. The work is straightforward to learn but requires consistent physical effort, attention to detail, and adherence to safety and quality standards.Responsibilities

• Load metal automotive parts into machines, ensuring each part is properly positioned and securely clamped. • Monitor automated equipment and robots that unload and stack parts, intervening when necessary to maintain safe and efficient operations. • Perform regular quality checks on parts to verify they meet specifications and standards. • Sort and place finished parts into bins according to part numbers and labeling requirements. • Lift and handle parts weighing approximately 20–45 pounds every 2–3 minutes throughout the shift. • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area in line with manufacturing safety practices. • Follow all work instructions, production procedures, and quality guidelines provided by supervisors or team leads. • Collaborate with team members and communicate any issues related to quality, equipment, or safety as they arise. • Adapt to working frequent Saturday shifts and occasional Sunday shifts as required by production demands. Essential Skills

• Proven experience performing physically demanding work, including frequent lifting of 25–40 pounds. • Ability to repeatedly lift and move metal parts weighing 20–45 pounds every few minutes over the course of a shift. in physically intensive roles such as construction, farming, landscaping, or similar work environments. • Comfort working in a loud, busy manufacturing setting with metal machining operations. • Ability to follow instructions accurately and consistently when loading parts and clamping them into machines. • Attention to detail when performing quality checks and sorting parts by part number and label. • Reliability and willingness to work frequent Saturday shifts and occasional Sunday shifts when required. Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience in manufacturing, assembly, or parts washing environments. • Familiarity with machine operation in a production setting. • Experience working with metal parts or other heavier materials. • Comfort working around automated equipment and industrial robots. • Ability to maintain focus and productivity during repetitive tasks in a fast-paced environment. The environment is loud and busy, with automated equipment and robots operating nearby. Work areas are well lit, and tasks involve lifting parts from waist height and from knee height to waist height, then placing them onto equipment or into bins. Shifts operate on a rotating schedule with days from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., afternoons from 4:00 p.m. to 12:00 a.m., and midnights from 12:00 a.m. to 8:00 a.m. The role requires working many Saturdays and occasionally Sundays, with Sunday shifts paid at double time. You will work on your feet for most of the shift and handle metal parts regularly in a structured industrial setting Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Port Huron, MI. Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $17.00 - $18.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
