Job Title: Warehouse SupervisorJob DescriptionThe Warehouse Supervisor oversees day-to-day operations in a large parts redistribution center, working closely with leadership to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality inbound, outbound, and claims processing activities. This role leads an hourly workforce, manages staffing and scheduling, and drives continuous improvement initiatives to achieve best-in-class performance.Responsibilities
• Supervise all warehouse operations, including inbound, outbound, and claims processing activities. • Work closely with the superintendent and plant leadership to align daily operations with facility goals and standards. • Manage day-to-day PRC (Parts Redistribution Center) operations while maintaining strict controls over processes and procedures. • Lead the hourly team in daily operations, ensuring clear direction and support. • Oversee staffing issues, including attendance, vacation planning, daily work assignments, and coverage for all shifts. • Cover crews and provide leadership support in the absence of other supervisors as needed. • Attend, facilitate, and document crew meetings, ensuring proper communication and follow-up on action items. • Prepare and maintain work-related records and reports as required. • Schedule workforce needs, including overtime and vacation, to meet operational demands. • Develop and implement projects to improve overall operating metrics and reduce budgeted expenses. • Champion and lead continuous improvement initiatives to drive best-in-class performance across warehouse operations. • Develop and maintain strong working relationships with union counterparts to support smooth operations. • Implement and promote a continuous improvement culture with hourly staff. • Develop and lead all safety initiatives to promote a safe working environment for all employees. • Actively participate in building and sustaining a safety culture that maintains a zero-incident mindset. • Proactively address all safety concerns in an expedient and effective manner. • Collaborate with salaried and hourly teams to improve safety culture and adherence to safety guidelines. • Maintain and develop strong quality procedures to ensure the facility consistently operates at the highest performance levels. Essential Skills
• At least 1 year of previous supervision experience in a warehouse, distribution, or similar operational environment. • Demonstrated experience in warehouse management and supervision. • Ability to manage day-to-day operations in a large warehousing or parts redistribution environment. • Strong understanding of safety practices and the ability to lead safety initiatives. • Proven ability to lead hourly teams, including handling staffing, attendance, vacation, and daily assignments. • Experience implementing and supporting continuous improvement initiatives. • Ability to develop and maintain strong working relationships with union or organized labor counterparts. • Strong organizational skills with the ability to maintain strict control over processes and procedures. • Capability to prepare, maintain, and manage operational records and documentation. • Flexibility to work across 1st and 2nd shifts as needed. • Experience working in a parts redistribution center or large warehousing facility. • Some experience in managing or improving operating metrics and reducing operational expenses. • Familiarity with quality procedures and standards in a warehousing or manufacturing environment. • Experience leading or participating in continuous improvement or lean initiatives. • Comfort working closely with cross-functional teams, including salaried and hourly staff. • Shift flexibility to support operations across multiple shifts. The facility includes a sheet metal operation, standard warehousing functions, and a dock operation that connects all incoming and outgoing parts to dealerships across the country. The environment is fast-paced and highly focused on safety, with safety vests and safety glasses required at all times on the warehouse floor. You will work closely with both salaried and hourly teams in a structured, process-driven setting that emphasizes adherence to safety guidelines, quality procedures, and continuous improvement practices. Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract position based out of Romulus, MI. Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $29.38 - $32.44/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
