About this role

Job Title: Aircraft Component AssemblerJob DescriptionJoin our team as an Aircraft Component Assembler where you will be responsible for assembling, modifying, and installing aircraft components, sub-assemblies, and structural assemblies per customer requirements. You will identify nonconforming parts, conditions, and manufacturing processes while working with basic sheet metal, riveting, assembly methods, and common shop practices. Responsibilities • Work with blueprints, specifications, and work orders to meet quality requirements. • Complete required data gathering to facilitate assembly progress. • Set up and run various shop equipment, such as squeezes and precision measuring tools, including drill motors and countersink cutters. • Troubleshoot any problems that occur and continually look for process improvements. • Perform any required rework or changes during the assembly process. • Assemble major components of sub-assemblies, major assemblies, as well as smaller bench work assemblies. • Move and obtain correct parts, materials, tools, and assemblies. Essential Skills • Experience in complex assembly, structures, and sheet metal. • 2-5 years of complex assembly and structures experience. • Ability to interpret blueprints and communicate work processes verbally. • Proficiency in using hand tools and composite materials. Additional Skills & Qualifications • High school diploma or GED, or one to two years of related experience and/or training. • Six months of vocational training preferred. • Experience with forklift, drill press, floor mounted rivet press, and overhead crane. • Time management skills and ability to write and record process information. Work EnvironmentWork in a climate-controlled area with a requirement to wear steel toe boots. The position requires the ability to handle physical demands such as standing, walking, and reaching with hands and arms. The work environment involves exposure to vibration, loud noise, and occasionally moving mechanical parts, fumes, or airborne particles. This is a full-time position with 1st shift hours from 6 am to 2:30 pm, Monday through Friday, with potential overtime on Saturdays, or 2nd shift from 2 pm to 12:30 am, Monday through Thursday, with possible overtime on Fridays and Saturdays. Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Wichita, KS. Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $25.00 - $25.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
