Fabricator / MIG WelderJob DescriptionThis role focuses on fabricating and welding a wide variety of metal parts using MIG welding techniques in a high-quality, production-oriented environment. You will complete welds based on work orders, prepare parts, operate welding equipment (including robotic welding stations), and ensure all work meets accuracy and quality standards while maintaining a clean and safe work area.Responsibilities
• Complete all required welds based on the work list and production schedule. • Perform MIG welding on metal components, including welding 1 to 1.5 inch steel. • Prepare parts for welding by scraping, sanding, grinding, and other necessary prep work. • Set up and perform basic maintenance on welding equipment to ensure safe and efficient operation. • Read and interpret basic blueprints and drawings to understand weld requirements and specifications. • Tack and weld a wide variety of metal parts and products as directed by production needs. • Inspect welded parts for accuracy and quality, documenting and reporting any discrepancies. • Complete required documentation and reporting related to production and quality. • Maintain a clean, neat, and tidy work area and promote good housekeeping practices. • Move materials and finished goods as needed to support efficient production flow. • Collaborate with team members and, where applicable, provide support aligned with lead or supervisory responsibilities if experienced. Essential Skills
• Minimum of 3 years of MIG welding experience. • Ability to weld 1 to 1.5 inch steel with consistent quality and structural integrity. • Proficiency in MIG welding techniques in a production or fabrication environment. • Basic blueprint reading and drawing interpretation skills. • Ability to perform parts preparation including scraping, sanding, and grinding. • Basic setup and maintenance skills for welding equipment. • Ability to inspect welds and parts for accuracy and quality and document findings. • Capability to use fabrication-related equipment and systems as assigned. • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds safely and repeatedly. • Strong attention to detail and commitment to safe work practices. • Willingness to learn and operate robotic welding stations. • Ability to work assigned shifts and maintain reliable attendance. Additional Skills & Qualifications
• Experience with stainless steel welding and fabrication. • Comfort working in a fast-paced, production-oriented setting. • Ability to communicate clearly with team members and follow written and verbal instructions. Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Sioux Falls, SD. Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $21.00 - $27.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
