Mig Welder – $23-27/hr Job DescriptionThis role focuses on MIG welding and fabrication of mild steel components used to assemble complex units for the oil and gas industry. You will interpret blueprints and schematics, fit and weld parts ranging from 1/4 inch to 2 inches in thickness, and ensure high-quality welds that meet rigorous industry standards.Responsibilities
• Perform MIG welding on mild steel components ranging from 1/4 inch to 2 inches in thickness using .035 and .045 wire sizes. • Fabricate parts and assemblies according to blueprints, schematics, and fitting requirements for oil and gas units. • Read and interpret detailed blueprints and weld symbols to plan and execute accurate welds and fabrication steps. • Set up welding equipment, select appropriate wire and settings, and verify proper operation before and during welding. • Execute uphill welding techniques and ensure weld integrity, strength, and appearance meet quality expectations. • Fit and align components prior to welding, ensuring precise measurements and proper tolerances. • Inspect completed welds and fabricated parts for defects, and make necessary repairs or adjustments. • Work collaboratively in a shop environment, coordinating with other fabricators and welders to complete units on schedule. • Follow safety procedures and shop protocols to maintain a safe and organized work area. Essential Skills
• Minimum of 3 years of MIG welding experience. • Proficiency with .035 and .045 MIG wire sizes throughout the required years of experience. • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and schematics and fabricate parts accordingly. • Strong MIG welding skills on mild steel, including thicknesses from 1/4 inch to 2 inches. • Demonstrated uphill welding experience. • Solid fitting skills to prepare components for welding. • Experience in an oil and gas manufacturing environment is strongly preferred. • Background in a job shop environment rather than a high-volume production shop. Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Fort Worth, TX. Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $25.00 - $29.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
