About this role

Job Title: Custom Trailer Builder - 1st shift $24-28/hrJob DescriptionThis role involves building, assembling, fabricating, and welding custom trailers in a job shop environment. You will work from blueprints and custom diagrams to construct a wide range of trailers, including 12–20 ft enclosed trailers, ice houses, flatbed trailers, and other specialty units. The position requires strong mechanical aptitude, hands-on repair experience, and basic knowledge of 12–24 volt trailer wiring and suspension systems.Responsibilities

• Build and assemble custom trailers from blueprints and custom diagrams. • Fabricate and weld trailer frames, components, and structures using appropriate welding techniques. • Install 12–24 volt electrical wiring and systems on trailers, including lights and related components. • Assemble and install custom racks, systems, and components for trailers according to specifications. • Use machine tools, hand tools, and power tools safely and effectively during fabrication and assembly. • Read, interpret, and follow work instructions, blueprints, and custom prints/diagrams accurately. • Perform mechanical repairs and adjustments on trailers, equipment, and related systems. • Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues on trailers and equipment. • Measure and verify dimensions using tape measures and other measuring tools to ensure accuracy. • Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas in a safe and functional condition. • Collaborate with a small shop team to complete custom projects efficiently and on schedule. Essential Skills

• Proven ability to read and interpret work instructions, blueprints, and custom diagrams. • Hands-on repair or fabrication experience in automotive, trailer, equipment, or similar mechanical environments. • Mechanical aptitude with experience in troubleshooting, repair, and general mechanical tinkering. • Basic knowledge of 12–24 volt trailer wiring and suspension systems. • Experience using hand tools, power tools, and machine tools in a fabrication or repair setting. • Ability to perform welding and fabrication tasks for trailer construction and repair. • Competence in using measuring tools such as tape measures to ensure accurate fabrication. • Troubleshooting skills for mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems. • Ability to work safely and follow shop procedures in a job shop environment. Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience with trailer repair or trailer building and fabrication. • MIG welding experience on aluminum and stainless steel. • Experience as a mechanic, service mechanic, trailer mechanic, or similar mechanical role. • Experience with electrical systems, including 12–24 volt wiring on vehicles or trailers. • Familiarity with hydraulic systems and related repairs. • Ability to perform TIG welding (if applicable to prior experience). The shop is large and active, with a fairly dirty setting due to ongoing work on trailers and semi-truck trailers. You will regularly use welding equipment, machine tools, hand tools, power tools, and measuring tools while working on various trailer types and custom builds. Expect a practical, hands-on atmosphere focused on fabrication, repair, and custom projects. Job Type & LocationThis is a Permanent position based out of Maple Grove, MN. Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $24.00 - $27.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
