Job Title: Sign Assembly TechnicianJob DescriptionThe Sign Assembly Technician assembles high-quality custom signs, displays, and visual products for a wide range of commercial and industrial applications. This role combines mechanical assembly, basic electrical work, and precise vinyl application to produce illuminated and non-illuminated signage that meets exact specifications and quality standards.Responsibilities
• Assemble illuminated and non-illuminated signs, displays, and visual products according to specifications, production drawings, and work instructions. • Perform electrical wiring and circuit assembly for sign lighting and electronic components, following schematics and wiring diagrams. • Install and connect LED lighting systems, transformers, power supplies, and related electrical components to ensure proper operation. • Apply vinyl graphics, decals, and lettering to sign and display surfaces with accuracy, alignment, and a high level of finish quality. • Assemble mechanical components, frames, hardware, and structural elements using metals such as aluminum and other materials as required. • Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and production documents to complete assemblies correctly and efficiently. • Use hand tools, power tools, spray guns, crimping tools, and measuring equipment safely and effectively during assembly and finishing processes. • Inspect finished products to verify they meet quality standards, dimensional requirements, and customer specifications, and perform basic troubleshooting when needed. • Assist various production departments, including fabrication, finishing, packaging, and shipping, to support overall production flow. • Operate production and light industrial machinery as needed for manufacturing and assembly tasks. • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area, including proper storage and handling of tools, materials, and equipment. • Follow company safety procedures, quality standards, and work instructions at all times. • Lift and move materials and products, and stand for extended periods to complete production tasks. Essential Skills
• Previous experience in manufacturing, assembly, electrical work, sign production, or construction is preferred. • Mechanical aptitude with the ability to perform mechanical assembly and understand how components fit and function together. • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, production drawings, schematics, and work instructions. • Proficiency using hand tools and power tools, including drills, drivers, crimpers, and other common shop tools. • Ability to use measuring tools such as tape measures and other precision measuring devices accurately. • Basic understanding of electrical wiring and circuitry, including wiring, electrical assembly, and troubleshooting at a basic level. • Experience or familiarity with LED lighting installation and electronic assembly. • Ability to perform vinyl application, including graphics, decals, and lettering, with strong attention to detail. • Capability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for extended periods in a production environment. • Strong attention to detail and commitment to high-quality workmanship. • Team-oriented attitude with a willingness to assist across multiple departments and production functions. • Comfort working in a light industrial, production manufacturing environment with metal, aluminum, and other fabrication materials. Additional Skills & Qualifications
• Experience in sign manufacturing or custom sign production. • Hands-on experience with electrical assembly, including wiring, crimping, and connecting components. • Experience in LED lighting installation and integration into finished products. • Vinyl application experience for signage, displays, or similar products. • Mechanical assembly experience in a production manufacturing or light industrial setting. • Familiarity with spray gun operation for finishing or coating applications. • Ability to read and interpret industrial blueprints and schematics with confidence. • Basic math skills to support accurate measurements, layout, and assembly. • Experience working with metals, including aluminum, in a fabrication or assembly environment. • General labor and machine operation experience in a manufacturing or fabrication setting. The schedule follows a day shift from 6:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., Monday through Friday. You will work in a light industrial environment using hand tools, power tools, spray guns, crimping tools, and measuring equipment, as well as operating production and machine equipment as needed. The work involves standing for extended periods, lifting up to 50 pounds, and handling materials such as metal and aluminum. The facility emphasizes cleanliness, organization, and adherence to safety procedures, with a collaborative team atmosphere and a focus on quality and precision in every product. Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Yakima, WA. Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $18.00 - $18.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
