Reports To: Assistant Director of Certified Trades Days Worked: 235 Days (12 months)

JOB QUALIFICATIONS: Education: High School graduate or equivalent.?A two-year degree from an accredited trade school is preferred with the approved courses. Certification or Licensure: Electrician's License is preferred. Must possess a valid state driver's license. Skills: Must be able to troubleshoot electrical controls and repair them. Ability to read blueprints and schematics. Leadership ability to direct a skilled worker or helper. Knowledge of different electrical testing equipment and tools and know how to use them. Extensive understanding of electrical systems and how they work. Must understand how to interpret the results of the test equipment. Work Experience: Minimum six years of on-the-job experience with specialized equipment such as fusion splicers, and OTDR test equipment and have knowledge of their operation. PRIMARY DUTY: This position is responsible for maintaining all electrical devices; some new construction; and the installation of new equipment. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Respond to maintenance requests and report status to the electrical foreman.

• Troubleshoot electrical problems at all levels.

• Make repairs as required to the NEC (National Electric Code).

• Repair and maintain equipment.

• Install and troubleshoot electrical systems.

• The employee shall carry out such other and further duties, whether specifically listed above or not, as are assigned or required by such employee's supervisor, other appropriate school personnel, law board policy administrative regulation, department handbook, as are reasonably necessary to the efficient operation of the school system and its mission.
