About this role

Job summary

Interested in working with people who have a difficult relationship with food? North Cumbria Adult Eating Disorder Service (NCAEDS) are looking for a Clinical Support Assistant who is interested in working with people who have a problematic relationships with food.

We would like to offer this experience to an individual who is motivated to work with patients and their families/loved ones in their own home/across environments.

To be able to work in a multi professional team who are committed to evidence based interventions and compassionate care.

There is an expectation of the post holder being able to independently travel across North Cumbria

The service operates across core business hours 9-5pm Monday to Friday

Main duties of the job

To assist in the delivery of care to service users who have a variety of needs, under the direction of a registered practitioner.

To implement and evaluate care within a prescribed framework as a member of the care team ensuring that high quality, individualised care is delivered and that this promotes recovery and wellbeing and maximises independence.

To complete physical health checks including phlebotomy and ECG, in line with NICE guidelines.

Person Specification

Education and Qualification Essential

Completion of a competency-based programme within probationary period OR equivalent demonstrable experience Knowledge of care related procedures, clinical observation, relevant legislation

Desirable

Level 3 qualification in a healthcare related subject OR a portfolio of equivalent demonstrable experience

Knowledge and Experience Essential

Previous care experience Person centred care approach Understanding of mental health and/or learning disabilities needs Safeguarding knowledge Awareness of carer needs

Skills and Competencies Essential

Good interpersonal and communication skills Ability to undertake PMVA (Prevention and Management of Violence and Aggression) training Verbal and written communication skills Effective Time Management

Desirable

Ability to prioritise tasks Accurate record keeping skills
