QualificationsYou qualify at the GS-09 level, if you meet one of the following qualification requirements: Choose the one answer that best describes how you meet the Basic Qualification Requirements for an Inventory Management Specialist, GS-2010-09 position as described in the Qualifications Section of the Vacancy Announcement. A. I qualify for this position at the GS-09 level because I have completed a Master's or equivalent graduate degree, or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree or an LL.B. or J.D., if related. B.I qualify for this position at the GS-09 level because I have 1 year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-07 level in the Federal service obtained in either the private or public sector, performing the following types of tasks: providing integrated management and control of activities involving specialized supplies and equipment, conducting physical inventories, analyzing inventory and property records to improve accountability, and preparing inventory reports to support logistics operations. C. I qualify for this position at the GS-09 level because I have a combination of post baccalaureate education and experience that meets 100% of the qualification requirements for this position. You qualify at the GS-11 level, if you meet one of the following qualification requirements: Choose the one answer that best describes how you meet the Basic Qualification Requirements for an Inventory Management Specialist, GS-2010-11 position as described in the Qualifications Section of the Vacancy Announcement. A. I qualify for this position at the GS-11 level because I have completed a Master's or equivalent graduate degree, or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree or an LL.B. or J.D., if related. B. I qualify for this position at the GS-11 level because I have 1 year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-09 level in the Federal service obtained in either the private or public sector, performing the following types of tasks: providing integrated management and control of activities involving specialized supplies and equipment, forecasting supply requirements, maintaining automated inventory records, resolving inventory discrepancies, and preparing inventory reports to support logistics operations and accountability. C. I qualify for this position at the GS-11 level because I have a combination of post baccalaureate education and experience that meets 100% of the qualification requirements for this position. You qualify at the GS-12 level, if you meet one of the following qualification requirements: Choose the one answer that best describes how you meet the Basic Qualification Requirements for an Inventory Management Specialist, GS-2010-12 position as described in the Qualifications Section of the Vacancy Announcement. A. I qualify for this position at the GS-12 level because I have 1 year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-11 level in the Federal service obtained in either the private or public sector, performing the following types of tasks: established and coordinates the application of supply or property programs, developing and implementing policies and process improvements, and planning organizational supply or asset requirements based on mission needs and budget constraints. Major DutiesAs a GS-2010- 9-11-12 Inventory Management Specialist, your duties may include but are not limited to the following: Plans, develops, and coordinates the logistical actions required to support the NIH biomedical research community. Establishes and monitors milestones for carrying out emergency planning and other actions required to ensure that researchers have available all supplies, equipment, and services needed at the right time and right place to complete research projects. Plans and coordinates future requirements (quantitative and monetary) for a broad range of supplies, equipment, and services required to support the NIH mission. Plans, organizes, and conducts surveys related to all elements of supply and property management. Studies and analyzes the purchasing trends of materiel and life-cycle of equipment. Ensures all acquisition and management of equipment are in accordance with the Federal Acquisition Regulations. Develops proposals, schedules, and participates in the technical evaluation panels for contracts, as required. Responsible for the integrated management and control of assigned items of materials. The incumbent will be under closer supervision and will receive more detailed instructions at the GS-09 and GS-11 levels. As the incumbent progresses, the amount of supervision will gradually be reduced. This position has a full performance level of GS-12.
