We are looking for an outstandingChef who’s passionate about food and wants to make a difference.
Oaklands is a specialist residential service with nursing, supporting individuals with learning disabilities and complex needs in Hexham, Northumberland. The team support individuals who have additional mental or physical health needs and behaviours that may challenge.
You’ll be working full time 40 hours a week, working 10 hour shifts 8am - 6pm on a rota basis.
Your Day-to-Day...
Prepare, cook & serve nutritional, balanced and appetising meals for patients, staff & visitorsLiaise with nursing colleagues to meet patients’ nutritional & dietary needsEnsure the cleanliness of the kitchen, service areas & dining roomSupervise kitchen staff when deputising for the Head ChefMaintain personal hygiene to comply with Cygnet standards and food hygiene regulationsHandle, maintain & store kitchen equipment in accordance with Cygnet proceduresUse chemicals in line with Control of Substances Hazardous to Health (COSHH) regulations. A skilled chef, preferably with experience in the care sectorExperienced in Dysphagia and IDDSI level dietsThe holder of a basic food hygiene certificate, with good personal hygiene standardsPolite & professional, with a positive attitude to internal & external quests at all timesAn excellent communicator able to liaise with people at all levelsAble to work on your own initiative, as part of a team & under supervision Why Cygnet? £13.70 per hour, increasing to £14.00 per hour after 3 months and £14.25 per hour after18 months
