About this role
The Pre-Operative Registered Nurse (RN) plays a critical role in preparing patients for surgical and invasive procedures by delivering comprehensive, patient-centered nursing care throughout the preoperative phase. Working collaboratively with surgeons, anesthesia providers, and interdisciplinary care teams, the Pre-Op RN develops, coordinates, and implements individualized plans of care that promote patient safety, surgical readiness, and optimal clinical outcomes. Develop and implement individualized plans of care in collaboration with physicians, anesthesia providers, and interdisciplinary team members. Assess and address the physical, emotional, educational, and psychosocial needs of patients and families. Provide preoperative education and support to patients, families, and caregivers. Perform ongoing patient monitoring and reassessment, adjusting care plans as needed based on patient condition. Ensure compliance with preoperative safety standards, policies, and regulatory requirements. Advocate for patients and promote a safe, efficient, and positive surgical experience. Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation.
