Job summary
To contribute to patient care by ensuring cleaning services are delivered in a professional, helpful and friendly manner by providing a high standard of cleanliness to Wards, Departments, Residences and Offices in the Trust and associated buildings.
Main duties of the job
General Day-to-Day Cleaning Sweeping, Mopping, Scrubbing / Polishing Floors. Vacuum Cleaning of Carpets. Damp dusting / Polishing Furniture, Fixtures and Fittings etc. Cleaning of Sanitary Areas. Replenish Paper Products, Soap etc. Disposal of Refuse. Bed making in Residence's and On Call Doctors rooms, where applicable. Sort Linen / Maintain Linen Levels where applicable.

Job description Job responsibilities
Periodical / Specialist Cleaning Shampooing Carpets / Furniture. Changing of Cubicle / Window Curtains where applicable Special / Intensive Cleaning at Supervisors request. Thorough clean of Bed, Locker, Bed table etc. following patient discharge where applicable. Special Cleaning of Infectious / Infected Areas. (HPV) Window cleaning where applicable Ensure all equipment is cleaned and correctly stored
Person Specification
Knowledge & Skills Essential
Understand the need for attention to detail.
Desirable
Basic understanding of the Health Service and an awareness of National Standards of Cleanliness
Experience Essential
The ability to communicate well with staff, patients and members of the public Ability to deal with unpleasant spillages
Desirable
Unsupervised working Understand the need to exercise confidentiality, sensitivity and have an awareness of the demands placed on Cleaning Services staff
Qualifications Desirable
NVQ Level 1 or 2 in Cleaning and Support Services. BICSc
