About this role

Job summary

Responsible for the operational management and delivery of cost effective, quality and performance driven Cleaning Services, within agreed guidelines and objectives. Responsible for ensuring services are delivered in compliance with relevant legislation, regulations, codes of practice and key performance indicators.

Responsible for ensuring all associated policy and procedures are implemented as required.

Must be prepared to support and cover for other estates and facilities divisional officers as required within the range of skills, knowledge and experience as agreed with the Head of Facilities.

Main duties of the job

Responsible for the delivery and compliance of Cleaning Services at HRI in accordance with required standards and the technical support for services delivered at CRH under the PFI agreement.

Assist with the development and implementation of medium- and long-term operational policy and strategy in accordance with current and future proposed statutory, regulatory and NHS guidance.

Assist with the development and implementation of CHFT Reconfiguration programme with a focus on PFI exit at CRH in 2028.

Provide professional and technical advice for the development and implementation of new service proposals.

Responsible for the operational delivery of cleaning Services including in-house and contracted services ensuring the delivery of quality and value driven services.

Responsible for the planning, organisation and implementation of complex activities related to cleaning/facilities services in accordance with client requirements, service specifications, National NHS standards and Best Practice Guides. This will include the implementation of new working practice and service models.

Person Specification

Knowledge and Skills Essential

Detailed knowledge and understanding of the provision of cleaning services in compliance with NHS standards. Technical cleaning knowledge Proven organisational and managerial skills, ability to prioritise and organise own and departmental workloads Proven ability to manage people effectively Proven ability to develop Facilities Management strategy and policy Experienced at working under pressure and delivering to challenging deadlines. Multi-tasking skills Skilled at working with multi-disciplinary teams

Desirable

Knowledge and understanding of a range of Facilities services delivered in the NHS environment Ability to produce detailed reports and service specifications in relation to the procurement of facilities services in the NHS environment Proven ability to produce detailed reports and Business Cases to Board level relating to facilities service provision. Ability to manage own time Able to exercise independent judgment

Experience Essential

Demonstrable and significant experience managing cleaning services at Senior management level within the NHS or private sector Experience of managing a range of services in the Facilities Management environment. Proven ability to lead and manage FM service delivery teams Good interpersonal and relationship building skills along with a proven track record in delivering quality in service provision. Experience of facilitating partnership working, decision making and conflict resolution.

Desirable

Experienced and understanding of the NHS procurement process for outsourced contracts

Qualifications Essential

Educated to Degree / Diploma or level of experience / training IOSH Managing Safely Equivalent evidence of continuing professional development

Desirable

Educated to Master's Degree level, in an associated Facilities Management field BICS Licence to practice and CPSS (cleaning professional skill suite)

General Essential

Able to fulfill the health requirements of the post as identified in the Job Description, taking into account any reasonable adjustments recommended by Occupational Health. Membership of an associated professional organisation/institution e.g. British Institute of Facilities Management Demonstrate a commitment to continuing development and knowledge progression Must be eligible to work in the UK. Ability to work in various locations throughout the network of services provided by the Company/Calderdale and Huddersfield NHS Foundation Trust.
