OTC Fleet Services is looking for an experienced Mobile Automotive Service Technician to join our Postal Service team.
In this role, you'll work from an OTC Fleet Services mobile service vehicle and travel to assigned postal facilities throughout the region to inspect, maintain, diagnose, and repair fleet vehicles on-site.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced technician who enjoys working independently, solving problems in the field, and taking ownership of their workday while still having the support of an established service team behind them.
Mechanical experience is required for this position.
This position is employed by OTC Fleet Services and supports USPS fleet operations. This is not a position directly employed by the United States Postal Service.
Schedule
Monday–Friday 4:00 AM–1:00 PM
Our early schedule allows technicians to work around fleet operating needs while finishing their regular workday early in the afternoon.
Compensation
$27–$37 per hour, based on experience, qualifications, and demonstrated mechanical ability.
The higher end of the range is intended for experienced technicians who are capable of independently diagnosing and completing a broad range of automotive and fleet repairs in the field.
What You'll Do
As a Mobile Automotive Service Technician, responsibilities may include:
• Travel to assigned USPS facilities in an OTC Fleet Services mobile service vehicle
• Perform preventive maintenance and scheduled fleet services
• Inspect vehicles and identify maintenance, repair, and safety concerns
• Diagnose mechanical and electrical issues
• Complete general automotive repairs at customer locations
• Service and repair brakes, tires, steering, suspension, lighting, batteries, fluids, and other vehicle systems
• Respond to vehicle breakdowns and road-service needs
• Troubleshoot vehicle concerns and determine appropriate repairs
• Help minimize vehicle downtime by completing quality repairs efficiently
• Accurately document work performed, vehicle condition, and parts used
• Communicate with OTC Fleet Services management regarding repairs, vehicle status, and additional service needs
• Maintain a clean, organized, and properly stocked mobile service vehicle
• Maintain a professional presence while working at customer facilities
• Follow company procedures and established safety standards
What We're Looking For
We're looking for an experienced, dependable technician who can be trusted to work independently in the field and represent OTC Fleet Services professionally at customer locations.
Qualifications include:
• Previous professional mechanical experience required
• Hands-on automotive, fleet, diesel, truck, equipment, road-service, or similar repair experience
• Strong general mechanical and troubleshooting ability
• Ability to diagnose vehicle problems and complete repairs independently
• Ability to identify vehicle safety and maintenance concerns
• Ability to manage assigned work and time responsibly without constant direct supervision
• Dependable attendance and strong work ethic
• Good communication and customer-service skills
• Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record
• Ability to safely operate automotive tools and equipment
• Ability and willingness to consistently work the 4:00 AM–1:00 PM Monday–Friday schedule
Previous mobile service or fleet maintenance experience is a plus.
