As an CAD Designer, you will: • Assists with designing components or portions of systems and modifies existing designs to develop or improve products and facilitate operations. • Gathers information, makes studies, computes calculations, and prepares original rough layouts, sketches to present design proposal. • Interpret structural drawings and sketches to convert into pre-fabrication packages using the following programs; AutoCad, Inventor, Adobe Acrobat, Microsoft Office and CAD/CAM Nesting Software for burn-table programs. • Communicate requirements and designs with Operations and Craft teams and may attend ship checks as needed.
Required Skills and Education: High School Diploma and 3 years work experience or equivalent experience required. Good working knowledge/experience with AutoCad, Inventor, 3D Drafting and Adobe software Good working knowledge/experience in blueprint reading Extensive Computer Skills- Microsoft office Proficient in math and geometry Good working knowledge/experience of ships configuration and lay-out Ability to read and understand work specifications- NAVSEA Standard Items and Military Standards Effective communication skills (verbal and written) Ability to inspect area on ship create legible hand sketches
