Main duties of the job

The Receptionist is the first point of contact for patients and visitors attending Valley Medical Centre. The post holder will provide a professional, courteous, and efficient reception and administrative service, ensuring patients receive a high standard of customer care at all times.
The role requires excellent communication and organisational skills, the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, and a commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality. The Receptionist will support the smooth day-to-day running of the practice by undertaking a variety of reception and administrative duties.

Experience Essential
Essential Criteria Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Good customer service skills. Strong organisational abilities and attention to detail. Competent IT skills. Ability to work under pressure and manage competing priorities. Ability to work as part of a team. Professional, reliable, and patient-focused approach. Understanding of confidentiality requirements.
Desirable
Desirable Criteria Previous experience working in a GP practice or healthcare setting. Knowledge of NHS services and primary care. Experience using EMIS Web. Experience in a receptionist or customer service role.
