Please see Additional Information section below. *** You will serve as an ENGINEERING TECHNICIAN (MECHANICAL) in the ENGINEERING AND PLANNING DIVISION, HM&E, ENGINEERING AND PLANNING DEPARTMENT of the NAVAL SHIP REPAIR FACILITY.

QualificationsGS-12: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of Specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Experience providing expert technical support, oversight, and management for the troubleshooting, disassembly, depot- and intermediate-level repair and modernization, assembly, testing, and certification of diesel, steam, and propulsion mechanical systems. GS-11: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of Specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Experience ensuring the repair and modernization of diesel, steam, and propulsion mechanical systems, support systems, equipment, and components comply with technical requirements, meet quality assurance and quality control standards, and are completed within established production schedules. Major DutiesYou will serve as the Main Propulsion Systems Subject Matter (SME) Expert in the HM and E Fleet Technical Assistance (FTA) Division providing FTA to all Homeported and Deployed ships in the 7th fleet.You will perform Main Propulsion equipment assessments as an SME including Total Ship Readiness Assessments (TSRA) and Integrated Class Maintenance Plan (ICMP) assessments for a variety of ship mechanical systems.You will identify parts and materials support requirements necessary to accomplish required repairs or modernization.You will prepare a variety of correspondence including technical specifications, technical assistance visit reports, and provide written troubleshooting guidance to deployed ships.You will provide technical oversight and management with troubleshooting depot and intermediate level repair and modernization.
