QualificationsYour resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Knowledge of Special Compartmented Information (SCI) programs and regulations to perform security program management and compliance oversight; utilizing advisory and communication skills in a senior security context; and/or exercising an integrated understanding of core security disciplines (Physical, Personnel, & Information). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. The incumbent must obtain certification within 24 months of assuming the position. SPeD certification/s must be maintained and undergo renewal process every two years in accordance with SECNAVINST 5500.38. Failure to obtain and maintain this condition of employment could result in disciplinary action and/or removal from employment. This position is designated as a Security Professional Education Development (SPeD) position with a Security Fundamentals Professional Certification (SFPC) requirement. Major DutiesYou will coordinate with the staff and subordinate unit Security Managers to ensure a comprehensive Personnel Security Posture is maintained for personnel under SSO responsibility.You will be responsible for planning, managing, implementing, evaluating, and adapting physical and administrative aspects of a specific security program for all COMSUBRON 3 accredited spaces.You will ensure all required security inspections are coordinated and conducted as required, and that any noted deficiencies are tracked and addressed.You will ensure that incoming personnel are cleared for eligible for the position they will be assuming and that outgoing personnel are appropriately debriefed or transferred in status to their gaining command.You will be responsible for administering personnel security awareness programs and continuous security evaluation of staff and all subordinate commands.You will Identify security requirements for SCI facilities within staff and all subordinate commands for a special security program.You will evaluate effectiveness of security practices, recommends control measurements and assures adherence to policy.
