Job summary
Mindworks has an exciting opportunity to join our Mental Health Support team for Specialist schools as a Mental Health Practitioner covering 1 years Maternity leave as either a secondment or fixed term post. The role is within the low intensity workforce, to develop clinical skillset, supervision skills and career progression.
We are seeking highly motivated and enthusiastic mental health practitioners to work within our service. The post holder will provide interventions for children, young people with additional needs and families using evidence-based intervention. The post holder will be supported to work with people with additional needs, including Neurodiversity, Learning difficulties and disabilities, physical and long term complex health needs. They will also work with people from different cultural backgrounds and ages, using interpreters when necessary and should be committed to equity, diversity, and inclusion.
Main duties of the job
This is an exciting opportunity for SWP's, recruit to train clinicians or clinically trained professionals.
Within the Mental Health Support Teams (MHSTs), you will provide evidence-based interventions, mental health promotion and prevention activities to support children, young people, and families accessing Surrey Mindworks. Supporting Young people and their families through joint working, clinical skills groups, consultation and school based activities. Delivering evidence-based 1-1 and group interventions for children, young people and their parents/carers that present with mental health difficulties.
Applicant criteria include substantive knowledge and experience of wellbeing delivery within education settings and /or CBT informed / Low Intensity CBT interventions.

Qualifications Essential
Qualification relevant to the specialist field with appropriate professional registration (Including but not limited to Psychologist, CBT Therapist, Mental Health Nurse, Social Worker, OT, Art Therapist, Senior Wellbeing Practitioner etc.) Membership/registration of relevant professional body
Desirable
Evidence of additional training in clinical or therapeutic skills relevant to working with CYP in schools or community settings
Experience Essential
Demonstrable post qualification experience working therapeutically with CYP In an Educational or Mental Health setting, with children and young people with mental health difficulties and their families. Experience of managing and prioritizing a caseload. Evidence of good practice in CYP mental health assessment and formulation, including risk, impact of the lived experience, systemic functioning and managing difference in the clinical space. Experience in design and delivery of workshops, groups and interventions to CYP target audience
Desirable
Experience of delivering CBT informed practice. Experience of delivering mental health interventions in education settings Experience of supervising junior staff or trainees Experience of consulting with school staff Experience of working with and adapting practice to meet the needs of young people who have special educational needs, learning disabilities, language and social communication difficulties, neurodiversity and behaviours of concern.
