JOB SUMMARY: Manage the daily operations of the Finance department; Assist the CFO in ensuring compliance with Blue Book Policy and prepare reports and analyses as per senior management request. Key Responsibilities Financial Reporting & General Ledger Management Maintain and analyze financial records to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with applicable accounting standards, statutory requirements, and company policies. Review and authorize journal entries for posting to the General Ledger, ensuring accurate classification and recording of financial transactions. Prepare, reconcile, and review assigned General Ledger accounts and submit reconciliations for CFO review. Conduct final reviews of all monthly account reconciliations to ensure the integrity and accuracy of financial information. Prepare monthly financial statements, management reports, General Ledger analyses, and other financial schedules to support business decision-making. Prepare and present key financial reports, including balance sheets, income statements, cash flow statements, and corporate tax schedules, for management and regulatory reporting purposes. Accounts Payable & Financial Controls Review and approve all cash and non-cash payment vouchers to ensure proper authorization, supporting documentation, and compliance with company policies and internal controls. Maintain effective financial controls to safeguard company assets, minimize financial risk, prevent fraud, and ensure the integrity of financial information. Assist the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) in implementing, monitoring, and strengthening internal controls in accordance with Blue Book compliance standards and company policies. Taxation & Regulatory Compliance Ensure compliance with applicable accounting standards, tax legislation, and regulatory requirements. Prepare corporate tax schedules and coordinate the timely preparation and filing of annual Corporation Tax Returns. Maintain legal, ethical, and regulatory compliance in all financial activities and reporting processes. Budgeting, Forecasting & Performance Analysis Assist in the development, coordination, and consolidation of the annual budgeting process, including the preparation of budget templates for all cost centres. Prepare financial forecasts and analyze performance against budgets and targets, identifying variances, trends, risks, and opportunities for improvement. Analyze financial data and business results to identify cost-saving opportunities, improve operational efficiency, and support organizational performance objectives. Audit & Risk Management Coordinate and support internal and external audits by preparing schedules, reconciliations, and supporting documentation as required. Monitor the effectiveness of financial controls and recommend improvements to enhance governance and risk management practices. Strategic Financial Support Provide financial insights, advice, and recommendations to management to support informed decision-making, sustainable growth, and long-term profitability. Assist the CFO and Managing Director with ad hoc financial analyses, special projects, business cases, and reports requested by Senior Management. Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to support financial planning, reporting, compliance, and continuous process improvement initiatives. Other Duties Perform any other duties and responsibilities as assigned in support of the Finance Department's objectives and the overall goals of the organization. INTERNAL RELATIONSHIPS: Reports directly to CFO Liaises internally with “operations and marketing departments and other finance staff” Direct Reports:- Assistant Accountants Senior Accounting Assistants AP Accounts Clerk II EXTERNAL RELATIONSHIPS: Foreign and Local Principals Service providers and vendors ASL’s commercial bankers Customers Group Management Services Departments QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE: ACCA qualified or equivalent professional degree. 3 Years accounting experience at supervisory level KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS: Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word Analytical and detail oriented Ability to analyze and summarize complex information Ability to identify and solve problems Effective business communication skills Effective managerial skills
