We have been involved in many of Canada's most ambitious projects; from dams, bridges, energy transmission and distribution to railroads and transportation. We are a vertically integrated manufacturer and our products are made at facilities located in Quebec, Ontario, and Saskatchewan. As a Project Specialist, you will report directly to the Project Manager. This role is part of the Major Project Group, focusing on Nexans Canada verticals such as Data Centers, Renewables, Giga-Factories, Mass Transit, Power Grid & Industrial. GETTING TO KNOW THE POSITION One of the strategic orientations that Nexans pursues consists in capturing growth and differentiating its offer by escalading the value chain from the production of cables towards the provision of innovative cable systems and services and solutions to better address the current and future needs of our partners and customers. The Project Specialist mission is to manage the full lifecycle of complex, large-scale project opportunities within an assigned strategic market vertical — from early-stage identification and bid coordination through to post-award execution and delivery. The role requires strong project management discipline, technical product knowledge, and the ability to work cross-functionally to ensure Nexans delivers its commitments in high-priority growth segments. manage the full sales cycle and order processing of accounts, while providing a high standard of customer service. HOW YOU MAKE AN IMPACT Project Opportunity & Pipeline Management -Prepare quotes and maintain a live pipeline of project opportunities within the assigned vertical, monitoring progress from identification through award and order intake -Manage project forecasting, order tracking, and status reporting in CRM and internal systems -Support pricing governance processes for high-value or non-standard bids -Partner with the Business Development and RSM teams to ensure project activity and vertical intelligence contribute to the broader commercial pipeline Bid & Proposal Coordination -Act as the primary coordinator between internal stakeholders, manufacturing plants, and select partner distributors to compile comprehensive bid packages -Coordinate the preparation of technical and commercial bid submissions for large-scale projects, bringing together inputs from supply chain, engineering, and pricing functions -Ensure technical data sheets, certifications, and submittal documentation are complete and aligned with project specifications -Develop and maintain working knowledge of Nexans and competitor cable specifications, installation standards, and procurement processes applicable to the assigned vertical Customer & Project Execution -Support customer and EPC engagement during the pre-award phase, ensuring Nexans is well-positioned from a technical and delivery standpoint -Manage awarded projects from PO receipt through final delivery, ensuring commitments on schedule, quality, and documentation are met -Serve as the primary point of contact for the customer during project execution, managing communications and escalations as required -Coordinate internally across manufacturing, logistics, and customer service to resolve execution issues and maintain delivery performance Market & Continuous Improvement -Share vertical-specific project and market intelligence with the broader Project Management team to support consistent practices and continuous improvement -Leverage project activity and market insights to strengthen collaboration across the commercial and project management teams WHAT YOU BRING TO THE ROLE ? Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Commerce, Business Administration, or a related field; equivalent combination of education and relevant industry experience will be considered 3–7 years of experience in project management or project coordination roles within the wire and cable, electrical, or industrial sectors Demonstrated ability to manage complex, multi-stakeholder projects from bid stage through to delivery Comfortable working with technical specifications, single-line drawings, and project tender documents Strong organizational and communication skills with the ability to coordinate across internal teams and manage customer-facing interactions professionally Familiarity with the Canadian project and construction landscape; knowledge of key EPCs, utilities, and project owners in the assigned vertical is an asset Proficiency in CRM tools, Microsoft Excel, and PowerPoint; experience with project tracking and reporting tools Willingness to travel within Canada and, on occasion, within North America as required Bilingual in French and English is an asset for roles with Quebec-based project activity Type of Position: Planned Vacancy Use of AI: None Salary: [$70,000.00 per annum to $80,000.00 per annum] Requests for accommodation due to a disability (which may be visible or invisible, temporary or permanent) can be made at any stage of application and employment.
