Position Summary: Fremont-Mills Community School District is seeking a motivated, student-centered Assistant Girls Basketball Coach for the 2026–2027 winter season. This position is responsible for assisting with the leadership and development of the high school girls basketball program while fostering a positive team culture and supporting the growth of student-athletes both on and off the court. The Assistant Coach will work collaboratively with athletes, families, staff, and administration to promote sportsmanship, competitiveness, and long-term program success. Fremont-Mills CSD serves students in grades PK–12 from the towns of Tabor, Randolph, Thurman, and surrounding rural communities. The district is known for strong relationships, community support, and a commitment to developing the whole child through academics and extracurricular opportunities. Fremont-Mills is conveniently located approximately 35 minutes from Council Bluffs and 45 minutes from Omaha, offering small-school culture with access to metro amenities.
Responsibilities: Assist in planning and implementing effective practices and game strategies Support in-season player development and skill progression Help design and promote off-season workout and development programs Contribute to a structured approach to practice planning, skill development, and team accountability Support the implementation of strength and conditioning programs. Promote and model sportsmanship, teamwork, and accountability Build connections between players and the community through volunteer opportunities Support and engage with youth development programs, including REC leagues Collaborate with the Athletic Director to ensure compliance with all school and state regulations Attend coaches meetings and professional development opportunities.
