Bus Driver/Custodian JOB TITLE: Bus Driver/Custodian REPORTS TO: Head Custodian of Assigned Building SUPERVISES: N/A QUALIFICATIONS:
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Possession of a Class B motor vehicle license with a school bus endorsement.
• Experience in custodial cleaning and bus driving preferred.
• Must have Maine CHRC fingerprinting and Background check.
NATURE OF WORK: This position involves driving buses with students and adults to and from school and/or extra and co/curricular events. This position also involves keeping school property clean, safe, and secure at all times. WORK REQUIREMENTS:
• Responsible for building safety, health, and security
• Knowledge of cleaning chemicals and their proper uses and safety requirements is preferred.
• Knowledge of hazardous materials, to include recognizing them and their proper use/disposal.
• Knowledge of life safety codes and Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS).
• Able to work unsupervised.
• Ability to understand and carry out oral and written instruction with minimal supervision.
• Knowledge of Maine DOT rules and regulations.
• Knowledge of emergency management and evacuation plans.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Driving assigned bus route, to include pre-trip/post-trip cleaning and fueling bus per School Unit policy.
• Securing your area of the building, windows, doors, and ensuring that all life safety items are kept clear and serviceable.
• Advises the building Head Custodian of any problems that arise, in a timely manner.
• Responsible for vacuuming, mopping, and general cleaning of assigned building area(s).
• Driving Extra, Co-curricular and field trips as necessary.
• Covering building assignments for events outside of school hours.
• Performs such other duties as shall be reasonably requested by the B,G,T Director or designee.

Terms of Employment: Hourly wage, length of work year and working conditions to be established by the Collective Bargaining Agreement.
Evaluation: Performance will be evaluated in accordance with School Board policy.
