About this role
The Director Product Development leads the software engineering, product design, and quality assurance functions for NITB's digital platforms, ensuring high-quality, standards-aligned application delivery in support of the NITB Act's e-government implementation mandate. Qualification: Minimum sixteen (16) years of education with a Bachelor's degree or a Master’s degree will be preferred. Experience: Minimum 10-12 years of experience in software engineering and product delivery, with at least 3-4 years in a senior role. Experience in managing multidisciplinary software development teams, software development life cycle (SDLC), product quality, user experience, and enterprise-scale application delivery will be preferred. Duties and Responsibilities • Lead software engineering and product development for NITB-managed platforms and applications. • Provide functional leadership to the Software Engineering and Product Design & Quality Assurance teams, ensuring effective planning, coordination, and delivery of engineering activities. • Oversee software development, product design, user experience, and quality assurance activities to ensure delivery of reliable, scalable, and user-centric digital solution. • Ensure engineering practices follow DevOps, secure-by-design (per CISO requirements), and NITB standards. • Oversee product release planning, development schedules, engineering quality, and deployment readiness throughout the software development lifecycle. • Supervise and develop the team responsible for Software Engineering and Product Design & Quality Assurance, fostering technical excellence, innovation, and continuous improvement. • Coordinate with operations and infrastructure teams for smooth deployment. • Prepare engineering performance reports, product delivery updates, and recommendations for submission to the Director General. • Build engineering team capability and technical standards.
