What You Can Expect:
Shift Pattern: Monday to Friday, 06:00 – 14:00 (09:00-17:00 for first month training)
This role will include but is not limited to…
• Oversee and coordinate daily routing and scheduling of deliveries to ensure optimal efficiency and customer satisfaction.
• Allocation of Collections to meet scheduling of collections and deliveries.
• Manage and resolve any delivery issues, acting as the primary point of contact between Operations, Customer services,
• hauliers and end customers.
• Building good working relationships across departments such as Customer Accounts Admin and Operations and the haulier
• customer account team to resolve queries in an efficient and timely manner.
• Responsible for managing the transport budget, tracking transportation costs, and finding ways to improve efficiency and
• reduce expenses.
• Booking deliveries and liaising with the security gatehouse to resolve any delivery or departure queries.
• Ensuring inbound/outbound manifests are completed promptly and accurately and sent to all parties in a timely manner.
• Produce daily reports both internally and externally as required such as: KPIs; WIPs; Activity Logs.
• Reporting Weekly usage of Chep pallets, booking load and reconciliation of outbound despatch.
• Answering and responding to all incoming emails and calls in a prompt and polite manner.
• Chasing late drivers, helping with directions, calling end customers to resolve issues in a timely and efficient manner to ensure
• minimal disruption to the delivery and minimise accumulative penalties.
• Acting as a first point of contact for incoming transport queries.
• Handling customer and internal queries and escalating serious complaints to management.
• Perform any other transport admin duties as required and assist the Transport Manager and the team.
• To undertake prescribed training and development
• Help to manage workload and assist cover for colleagues as and when needed to ensure the transport department always runs
• efficiently and effectively.
• Adhere to all company policies, procedures, and Health & Safety requirements.
• Perform all tasks and duties required and assist the Transport Manager.
• Understand colleague and customer requirements and your role to enable these requirements to be met.
• Understand driver’s hours would help your role to better meet transport planning, booking requirements.
What You Bring:
• English & Maths GCSE at grade C or above
• Microsoft Word & Excel (intermediate at a minimum)
• Warehouse Management Systems
• Good telephone etiquette
• Strong analytical skills and an eye for accuracy
• Problem solving
• Effective communication skills
• Able to work with minimal to no supervision
• Customer service skills
• Stay calm under pressure
• Multi-tasking
• Basic geographical knowledge preferable
