Assistant Girls Soccer Coach Position Summary West Lyon Community School is seeking a positive, energetic, and student-centered Assistant Girls Soccer Coach to help launch and build our new girls soccer program. The assistant coach will work closely with the Head Coach to develop student-athletes, establish a positive team culture, and help create a strong foundation for a successful program. Essential Responsibilities
• Assist the Head Coach in planning and conducting effective practices and competitions.
• Teach and reinforce soccer fundamentals, sportsmanship, teamwork, and character.
• Support the development of a positive, inclusive, and competitive team culture.
• Build positive relationships with student-athletes, parents, and fellow coaches.
• Assist with equipment, uniforms, game-day operations, and other program logistics.
• Promote the academic, personal, and athletic growth of all student-athletes.
• Comply with all IGHSAU, conference, and West Lyon Community School policies.
• Attend practices, competitions, coaches' meetings, and required professional development.
Preferred Qualifications
• Previous coaching or playing experience in soccer is preferred.
• Strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
• Current Iowa coaching authorization (or ability to obtain).
• Current CPR, First Aid, and concussion certification (or ability to obtain).
