About this role

Job summary Working with schools and community partners, you'll lead health support for children and young people so they can thrive. You'll join a supportive, multi-disciplinary team delivering school health services and public health programmes. This role focuses on early help, safeguarding and improving health outcomes. You'll manage your own caseload and work closely with families, education staff and other services to provide joined-up care. Base is listed as Marfleet Health Centre but this is subject to change.

Main duties of the job What you'll do:

Manage a school-age caseload and plan care based on assessed needs Deliver health education and public health programmes in schools and communities Carry out health assessments, screening and referrals to other services Work with partners to support safeguarding and complex family needs Provide advice, training and guidance to schools, families and colleagues What we're looking for: Registered nurse with a Specialist Community Public Health qualification Experience supporting children and young people in community or school settings Knowledge of safeguarding and public health priorities Strong communication and teamwork skills Ability to plan workloads and work independently with support available We welcome applications from all backgrounds and value diverse experiences that help us care for our communities with fairness, respect and compassion.

Person Specification

Qualifications Essential

Specialist Community Public Health Qualification. RGN

Desirable

Foundation in Sexual and Reproductive health. Clinical Supervision.

Knowledge Essential

Specialist knowledge of school nursing for Children and Young people Knowledge of community development and public health priorities; local and national priorities for improving outcomes. Presentation and teaching skills Developing package of care

Desirable

Experience of project development and management

Experience Essential

Assessing need and planning outcomes Teaching & presenting to large groups Safeguarding Children Training to level 3 IT Skills

Recent experience as a practising school nurse. Immunisations & Vaccinations Power Point
