Role: Senior SAP BTP Platform Architect (SAP Basis / Cloud Operations) Role Summary We are looking for an experienced SAP Basis, SAP platform operations, or cloud operations professional to take technical ownership of our SAP Business Technology Platform (BTP) landscape. This is a senior platform role focused on the administration, governance, security, connectivity, lifecycle management, monitoring, and operational readiness of SAP BTP in a global enterprise environment. You will establish and evolve the technical foundation on which integration, application, and transformation teams consume SAP BTP services. You will work closely in a Team with enterprise architects, developers, security, infrastructure and SAP operations. Your primary responsibility is the stable, secure, scalable, and governable operation of the SAP BTP platform . SAP Basis experience, a strong operational mindset, and the ability to translate proven SAP operations principles into a cloud-platform environment are central to this role. You will work with experienced SAP, infrastructure, security, and development teams on modern cloud platform operations, clean-core enablement, secure connectivity, and scalable governance. Establish reliable standards for account structures, entitlements, security, identity, connectivity, monitoring, and lifecycle management. Apply and extend your SAP Basis and technical operations experience in a modern cloud platform environment. Shape the technical foundation for clean-core and side-by-side extensibility without being responsible for application development. Work with global teams on high-impact SAP transformation and platform-standardization initiatives. Build reusable operational standards, technical documentation, support models, and enablement material for SAP BTP. Your Role in the Team You will be responsible for the technical platform foundation and operational readiness of SAP BTP. You will design, govern, and continuously improve a secure and maintainable enterprise platform for global use. Your responsibilities include: Design and evolve SAP BTP global account, directory, subaccount, entitlement, quota, service-plan, and landscape-separation concepts. Define standards for SAP BTP provisioning, configuration management, lifecycle management, transport procedures, change management, and operational handover. Own and evolve platform governance for security, identity and access management, role concepts, emergency access, auditability, logging, and compliance requirements. Design and support secure hybrid connectivity between SAP BTP and on-premises SAP landscapes, including SAP Cloud Connector, certificates, destinations, network coordination, and connectivity standards. Define monitoring, alerting, logging, observability, incident-management, problem-management, and escalation procedures for BTP platform services. Act as a technical escalation point for SAP BTP platform availability, security, performance, connectivity, and operational issues. Establish technical standards for the consumption of SAP BTP services by integration and development teams. Enable and govern the platform services used by other teams, including SAP Integration Suite, API Management, Event Mesh, SAP HANA Cloud, Cloud Identity Services, and selected runtime services. Support teams using CAP, Kyma Runtime, SAP Build, and other BTP services from a platform, governance, security, and operational perspective; hands-on application development is not the focus of this role. Define and support end-to-end technical integration patterns across global cloud and hybrid system landscapes. Review technical designs and ensure alignment with platform, security, governance, operational, and architecture standards. Create architecture documentation, operational runbooks, decision papers, platform standards, and technical enablement material. Share knowledge through internal training, mentoring, and close collaboration with SAP Basis, infrastructure, security, integration, and development teams. What We Expect from You Qualifications and Expertise Strong SAP Basis, SAP technical operations, SAP infrastructure, or cloud-platform operations background. Deep understanding of enterprise SAP landscape operations, including system administration, technical monitoring, authorizations, certificates, interfaces, connectivity, and production support. Strong understanding of SAP BTP administration, governance, security, identity and access management, connectivity, lifecycle management, monitoring, and operational concepts. Ability to translate enterprise requirements into sustainable, secure, scalable, and operable platform designs. Experience establishing technical standards, governance models, operational processes, and support concepts. Strong analytical and structured problem-solving skills for complex technical topics. Clear and confident communication with technical, functional, security, operations, and management stakeholders. A practical mindset: you can balance architecture requirements with implementation feasibility and reliable day-to-day operations. Professional Experience Several years of professional experience in SAP Basis, SAP platform operations, SAP technical infrastructure, cloud operations, or comparable enterprise platform roles. Hands-on experience with SAP BTP administration, platform operations, connectivity, security, governance, or lifecycle management is strongly preferred. Experience with SAP S/4HANA, SAP NetWeaver, SAP Cloud ALM, SAP Solution Manager, SAP integration scenarios, or hybrid SAP system landscapes is an advantage. Experience managing SAP BTP account structures, subaccounts, entitlements, user and role concepts, SAP Cloud Connector, destinations, certificates, monitoring, logging, and service consumption is highly valued. Experience with SAP Integration Suite, API Management, Event Mesh, SAP HANA Cloud, SAP Cloud Identity Services, or related BTP services is beneficial. Experience in technical leadership roles such as SAP Basis Lead, SAP BTP Platform Architect, SAP Technical Architect, Cloud Operations Lead, Integration Architect, or Technical Project Lead. Experience working in global SAP installations, multi-country rollouts, or internationally distributed teams is an advantage.
