To provide a high-quality and efficient referral process, including comprehensive target pathway identification and registration services.
Collaborate closely with the CCC secretarial team to ensure complete availability of referral information, patient demographics, and all required clinical data.
Coordinate with the Cancer Waiting Times Facilitator, Medical Records staff, and Clinical Effectiveness Team to identify NHS national set targets and patient pathways.
Registering referrals alongside scheduling the initial appointment and advising patients by phone and digital letter. The use of multiple systems will be utilised to ensure the all relevant patient data is captured at point of registration.
Main duties of the job
Communication
To communicate effectively with peers, Administrative Services staff, other Trust staff, clinicians and external agencies to ensure that all aspects of patient pathway information is completed in an accurate and timely manner for patients attending CCC and Network clinics. Contact with patient's to ensure clinic attendance by telephone and digital letters avoiding any delays Analytical and Judgement Skills
An understanding of the Cancer Waiting Times guidance is required in order to identify all cancer target patients at point of referral. Make informed decisions whether to accept or reject the referral. A high level of attention to detail is required reading the referral letter and validating the minimum data set to accept/reject a referral. Using all this data captured to ensure the correct pathway details are recorded. Planning and Organisational Skills
To liaise with team members and ensure that the registration function is adequately covered during office hours, working together to cover the multiple systems used to log receipt of the referral. Manage own workload using multiple systems, communicating with the team and following set processes utilizing the current working instructions, ensuring that patients are registered in a timely manner.

Knowledge Essential
NHS Office Procedures using computer systems Confidentiality & Data Protection Knowledge of surgical procedures, cancer treatments and drugs.
Desirable
Understanding of Administrative Service Departmental processes & structure o Understanding of current national waiting times standard
Experience Essential
Experience of working in the NHS
Desirable
Experience in a healthcare setting using Meditech or similar patient administration services
Qualifications Essential
5 Grade A*-C GCSE levels inc. Maths and English ECDL or equivalent NVQ 3 - Business
