About this role

Summary of responsibilities:

Facilities Support is responsible for ensuring that all aspects of the building are maintained, room setups are complete, and provides general maintenance to facilitate an overall environment of excellence throughout the college campus.

Specific Duties and Responsibilities:

• Work closely with the Director of Operations to facilitate rooms changes, event prep, and daily maintenance needs.

• General Maintenance of the building.

• Project management as needed.

• Responsible for making sure that everything is in working order for classes, events, and meetings.

• Light construction.

• Light plumbing (sensor batteries, plunging toilets).

• Light electrical (changing bulbs, some ballasts).

• Carpet Cleaning.

• Painting.

• Pressure washing.

• Make sure the grounds are trash-free.

• Ensure vehicles, trailers, and golf carts are maintained (fuel, oil, tires, etc.)

• Advance preparation plan for all events.

• Coordinate cleaning based on daily and event needs.

• Set up and take down tables and chairs as needed.

• Ensure all equipment is returned to storage areas.

• Ensure all bathrooms are clean and in working order (faucets, commodes, etc.)

• Other related duties, as requested.

Other Duties:

• Assist in implementing campus events.

• Assist with Orientation details and execution each semester.

• Support and participate in student recruitment and retention efforts.

• Serve as an ambassador for the College at the campus level with alumni, parents, students, neighbors, community leaders, and professional colleagues.

• Other duties as directed and required.

• Affirm and uphold the Statement of Faith and the Core Values and DNA of the College, exemplifying all by word and lifestyle.

• Participate in ministry at Church of the Highlands and Highlands College by leading small groups.

Knowledge:

• Clearly understand basic maintenance and repair procedures.

• Know how to build a curriculum and have a basic understanding of pedagogy.

Education:

• High school diploma or currently working towards a high school diploma

Experience:

• Prior experience in a similar role is preferred.

Extent of Public Contact:

• Medium.

Physical Demands:

• Moderate exposure to physical risk.

• Good physical condition is required.

• Ability to lift 50 lbs without assistance.

• Ability to stand for long periods of time.

• The physical activity of this job includes climbing, stooping, kneeling, and crawling.

Direct Reports:

• This position is not a team lead for any Highlands College teammates.
