Do you enjoy working with children, creating fun activities, and helping students feel supported after school? Glassboro Child Development Centers is looking for motivated and enthusiastic Assistant Group Leaders to join our school-age programs!
Our Assistant Group Leaders help create a safe, engaging, and positive environment where children can continue learning, building friendships, and having fun beyond the school day.
Position Details
• Schedule: Monday–Friday (must be available all five days)
• Hours: 2:15 PM–6:00 PM
• Hours per Week: Approximately 18.75 hours per week depending on program needs and location
• Pay Rate: $17.98/hour
• Status: Part-Time, Non-Exempt
What You'll Do
Assistant Group Leaders support the planning and implementation of engaging activities while helping children develop socially, emotionally, physically, and academically.
Responsibilities include:
• Welcome children and families and help create a positive program environment
• Assist with communicating information and concerns to families as assigned
• Support daily activities including homework help, group activities, indoor/outdoor play, and enrichment opportunities
• Provide active supervision to ensure children's health and safety
• Assist with classroom activities, materials preparation, and meal/snack routines
• Assist with observing children and documenting participation and development
• Support children with bathroom and personal care routines as needed
• Help maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming classroom space
Qualifications
Required
• CPR and First Aid Certification
• Availability Monday–Friday, every day of the program schedule
• Ability to work collaboratively with children, families, and team members
Preferred
• High school diploma or equivalent
• One year of experience working with children
• Knowledge of school-age child development and positive guidance practices
Professional Development
Employees must complete a minimum of 12 hours of relevant annual training, including topics related to child development, safety, curriculum, and quality childcare practices.
Work Environment
This position works in a school-age classroom setting and includes indoor and outdoor activities. Employees may be required to attend occasional evening or weekend agency activities or events.
