Glassboro Child Development Centers is seeking caring and dependable Teacher Assistants to support our infant, toddler, and preschool classrooms. As a Teacher Assistant, you'll work alongside experienced teachers to create a safe, nurturing, and engaging environment where every child can learn through play and exploration.

Position Details

• Schedule: Monday–Friday

• Hours: Eight-hour shifts scheduled between 8:00 AM and 6:00 PM (includes a one-hour unpaid lunch break)

• Pay Rate: $17.98/hour

• Status: Full-Time, Non-Exempt

What You'll Do

Teacher Assistants help create positive classroom experiences by supporting children's learning, development, and daily routines.

Responsibilities include:

• Welcome children and families while helping create a warm, supportive classroom environment

• Assist with planning and implementing age-appropriate learning activities

• Provide active supervision during indoor and outdoor play

• Promote the health, safety, and well-being of every child

• Assist with observing children and documenting developmental progress

• Prepare classroom materials, learning centers, and meals/snacks as needed

• Support diapering, toileting, handwashing, and other personal care routines as appropriate

• Maintain a clean, organized, and engaging classroom

Qualifications

Required

• CPR and First Aid Certification

• Ability to work collaboratively with children, families, and team members

Preferred

• High school diploma or equivalent

• One year of experience working with young children

• Knowledge of child development and developmentally appropriate practices

Professional Development

Employees complete a minimum of 12 hours of annual professional development focused on child development, curriculum, assessment, infant and early childhood mental health, quality standards, diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI), and other required childcare topics.

Work Environment

This position works in an infant, toddler, or preschool classroom and includes active indoor and outdoor supervision, frequent movement throughout the day, and assisting children with daily care routines. Employees may occasionally attend evening or weekend agency meetings or events.
