Department: Business and Student Services Job Title: ASCENDER Student Software Consultant Position Type: Full-time Job Goal: Provide prompt and accurate support to schools in Region 6 regarding the use of the Ascender Student and Portal applications, including technical related issues, as well as, reporting requirements Education:
• College degree in the area of Education or Management Information Systems preferred
• High School Diploma
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
• Knowledge of school processes such as registration, grade reporting, attendance,
scheduling, discipline, and other areas relevant to the Ascender and Portal applications.
• Knowledge of PEIMS and any Local, State, and Federal reporting requirements
• Perform assignments without continuous supervision
• Ability to establish and maintain rapport between schools and Region 6 ESC personnel
• Capable of working closely, and completing tasks, with co-workers
• Ability to collaborate with schools and Region 6 ESC personnel
• Ability to work with all facets of data processing
• Excellent organization, communication, public relations, and interpersonal skills
• Possesses a positive attitude and work ethic
• Demonstrates responsibility and dependability
• Employs acceptable listening, researching, and timely response techniques to clients and co-workers
• Demonstrates the ability to perform the assigned responsibilities
Experience:
• Experience in public education and school processes
• Experience analyzing and resolving problems
• Experience meeting deadlines and completing tasks under pressure
• Experience using the Ascender and/or Portal applications preferred
Major Responsibilities and Duties:
• Assist in the formulation and delivery of student support services to schools
• Provide support in the areas of school processes and local, state, and federal reporting
• Compose training material and conduct training/workshops
• Analyze computer and software-related issues
• Maintain a professional level of confidentiality regarding Region 6 ESC matters
• Provide contracted services to schools
• Perform other duties as assigned

• Standard Office Equipment, including personal computers and peripherals
Working Environment:
• Posture: Prolonged sitting; occasional bending/stooping, pushing/pulling, and twisting
