  • Minimum three years of relevant district experience in assessment, instructional leadership, or student performance analysis.

Major Responsibilities and Duties

Assessment and Student Growth

  • Assist districts with assessment selection, student growth methods, and consistent administration and scoring practices.
  • Guide district teams in checking alignment among the assessed content, instructional expectations, and the teachers and students included in each growth measure.
  • Help districts establish written procedures for assessment windows, accommodations, student participation, make-up testing, and exceptions so results can be interpreted consistently.
  • Facilitate reviews of assessment items and scoring rubrics; help teams identify gaps, unclear expectations, and needed revisions before implementation.

TIA Implementation and Quality Assurance

  • Partner with the TIA Data Specialist to investigate unusual growth patterns, missing records, and inconsistent results; help districts distinguish assessment concerns from data processing concerns.
  • Assist districts in documenting assessment decisions and retaining evidence that explains how student growth results were produced.
  • Help district leaders evaluate whether teachers have comparable opportunities to demonstrate student growth across grades, subjects, and teaching assignments.
  • Support district planning for adding eligible teaching assignments by identifying appropriate measures and the preparation required before implementation.
  • Contribute assessment expertise to district application, renewal, expansion, and improvement efforts in collaboration with other TIA team members.

Professional Learning and District Service

  • Design and facilitate practical learning sessions using district examples, guided practice, and actionable follow-up steps.
  • Coach district leaders on communicating assessment expectations and growth results to teachers in clear, understandable language.
  • Maintain a district support schedule and service records; identify recurring needs and recommend targeted assistance.
  • Coordinate with Assessment and Accountability and other LL&A staff to connect districts with relevant expertise and avoid conflicting guidance.
  • Use participant feedback and evidence of district implementation to improve Region 6 ESC assessment support.

Professional Responsibilities

  • Monitor official TIA guidance and communicate assessment-related changes to the Region 6 ESC team and supported districts.
  • Demonstrate responsive service, collaborative problem solving, and professional conduct with district staff and colleagues.
  • Maintain required documentation for assigned services and funding sources; perform other duties as assigned.

Supervisory Responsibilities

None. Collaborate with district personnel and Region 6 ESC staff to support assigned work.

Requires regional travel, sustained computer use, preparation and transport of training materials, and occasional work beyond the regular schedule.
