We're gearing up for our busiest period with summer around the corner and will be employing Explorer Hosts on a fixed term full-time basis. You'll be able to start at the end of September 2026 and work through till approximately the beginning April 2027.

About the role
Waiheke Bus Company is on the hunt for full-time, fixed term Explorer Hosts to join us over the busy summer period (until April). As an Explorer Host on our Explorer Hop-on Hop-off buses, you will be the first point of contact for our customers providing commentary on the local attractions and products that Waiheke Island has to offer.
About you
For success, speaking in front of groups with confidence should come naturally. You will be passionate about customer service, thrive off customer interaction and find it easy to build rapport with our customers.
Additionally you will need great work ethic, a positive and upbeat attitude as well as great time management skills.
Preference provided towards applicants with detailed knowledge about the area.
Summer crew overview
• Intakes are 28 September OR 12 October OR 2 November (which you must attend)
• Ideally you'll be available to work until April 2027
• Starting and ending your shifts at the Waiheke Bus Company located on Ostend Road
• Need to be able and willing to work over the Christmas and New Year’s period
• Need to be available to work a shift based, rotating roster
Hourly rate and perks:
• $28.95 per hour paid weekly
• Full-time fixed-term contract
• Free ferry travel for our employees for work and leisure
• Free bus travel on island (for the employee)
