About the role
Reporting to the Crew Development Manager, you'll be an integral part of ensuring our crew are trained and operating at a high standard. Responsible for all deck duties on board, you'll also ensure the crew are trained and operating at a high standard. You'll be a real champion of the customer experience and motivate your crew to go above and beyond.
This role offers a direct pathway for career progression, with the opportunity to advance from Deckhand to Skipper. As a Maritime New Zealand-approved training provider, Fullers360 can also support you in gaining your SRL High Speed endorsement.
Duties
• Lead and influence the customer experience onboard
• Provide outstanding customer service in our bar and café
• Deploying gangways
• Taking responsibility for all aspects of deck work
• Completing engine room checks
• Handling lines in all weather conditions
• Lead of safety on the vessels
• Provide training and guidance to our junior crew
Skills & Experience:
• You must hold a current New Zealand SRL ticket (Skipper Restricted Limits) with endorsements for vessels up to 24 meters, and large Passenger numbers (High Speed Endorsement desirable)
• You will hold a current seafarer medical
• Current First Aid Certificate
• You will have a minimum 2 years’ experience in a similar role
• You pride yourself on providing an outstanding customer experience
• You have a proven track record and ability to successfully lead and support your crew
• You will have a high level of maturity, and ability to work under pressure
• You pride yourself on your high standard of personal presentation

As Fullers operates 7 days a week, this position is on a rotating roster basis and will include some weekend shifts and public holidays. Due to the nature of shift work involved, applicants are required to have a full driver's licence and their own transport.
