Job SummaryYou will serve as a SUPERVISORY MECHANICAL ENGINEER in the Air Vehicle Engineering Department, Mechanical Systems Branch of NAVAIRWARCENAC DIV.

QualificationsYour resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1.) Reviewing, establishing, and negotiating engineering requirements and criteria governing the design, certification, life limits and in-service integrity of air vehicle subsystems via specifications, technical expertise, standards or operating policies/procedures. 2.) Evaluating proposals for new and modifications of existing air vehicle subsystems (defined as Thermal Systems, Hydraulics, Landing Gear, Fuel Systems, or Mechanical Systems) to determine acceptability or identify deficiencies with respect to the design, development, test and evaluation of aircraft subsystems. 3.) Developing engineering solutions to fleet subsystems problems with respect to air vehicle subsystems and components and generating operational limits or technical basis to ensure safe operations. 4.) Negotiating with Program Managers or Team Leaders to assign capable resources for specific projects and adjusts such assignments. 5.) Ability to communicate a technical position to a wide range of audiences. Major DutiesYou will review, formulate, establish, and negotiate all engineering requirements and criteria governing the design, certification, life limits and in-service integrity of air vehicle Subsystems.You will plan and control technical direction of laboratory and flight testing programs, including evaluation of test plans, specifying instrumentation requirements and interpretation/approval of data/test results.You will develop engineering solutions to fleet subsystems problems with relating to aircraft Fuel, Hydraulics, Thermal, Landing Gear, and Mechanical Subsystems and components and generates operational limits/technical basis to ensure safe operation.You will participate and represent the Navy on appropriate DOD, national, and international panels, boards, committees, and advisory groups.
