Job SummaryYou will serve as a SAFETY AND OCCUPATIONAL HEALTH (SOH) MANAGER in the Infrastructure, Safety and Environmental Department (ISED) of NAVAIRWARCENAC DIV.

QualificationsYour resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the (GS-11/12) grade level or pay band (DA-04) in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience includes: 1) managing comprehensive Safety and Occupational Health (SOH) programs within a high-risk Research, Development, Test, and Evaluation (RDT&E) environment; 2) demonstrating strong educational background or equivalent professional experience in safety management, occupational health, or engineering; 3) demonstrating proven expertise in overseeing multi-site regulatory compliance, mitigating complex hazard categories (including radiation, explosives, and industrial operations; 4) designing long-term strategic safety policies; 5) exhibiting exceptional communication, negotiation, and advisory skills to direct cross-functional teams, resolve high-stakes integration challenges, and serve as an expert advisor to senior executive leadership. Major DutiesYou will serve as the team lead for the Safety and Occupational Health (SOH) professionals within the Infrastructure, Safety and Environmental Department (ISED), providing command SOH support to COMNAWCAD.You will be responsible for safety program management, program assessment, resource analysis, long-term planning and execution oversight of operational safety mandates as they apply to the NAWCAD mission and its personnel at all installations.You will monitor and coordinate with Base Operating Support Safety Department to include SOH requirements, inspections, deficiencies, life safety issues, and the Enterprise Safety Application Management Services (ESAMS) support.You will coordinate, collaborate and integrate the mission operating support requirements of all mission aligned organizations, to ensure the business unit’s short, mid and long-term goals are achieved.You will ensure that a safe and healthy work environment is provided for assigned military, civilian and contractor personnel by developing and analyzing, evaluating and managing the overall 24-hour SOH Program.You will plan, organize and conduct comprehensive inspection activity, evaluate the effectiveness of occupational safety requirements in the work environment, and assess the degree of compliance with applicable regulations and standards.You will develop and conduct safety educational courses for civilian and military personnel, and assist supervisors and safety professionals in developing and conducting safety courses.
