Job SummaryYou will serve as an ELECTRONICS TECHNICIAN in the U.S. Naval Computer and Telecommunications Station, Guam of NAVAL COMP TELCOM AREA WESTPAC. Guam is designated as a medically underserved area. Military medical facilities offer space-available primary and limited specialty medical care; however, services are not guaranteed.
QualificationsApplicants must have directly applicable experience that demonstrates the possession of knowledge, skills, abilities, and competencies necessary for immediate success in the position. Qualifying experience may have been acquired in any public or private sector job, but will clearly demonstrate past experience in the application of the particular competencies or knowledge, skills and abilities necessary to successfully perform the duties of the position. Such experience is typically in or directly relates to the work of the position to be filled. Qualifying experience would be demonstrated by 1. Telecommunications Principles: A deep understanding of telecommunications principles, concepts, methodologies, and practices. 2. Practical Experience: Hands-on experience in the administration, operation, and maintenance of telecommunications systems and networks. 3. Equipment and Systems: Thorough knowledge of telecommunications equipment, networks, and components, including Digital electronic switching systems, Fiber optic transmission systems, and Network equipment. 4. Technical Documentation: The ability to read and interpret technical documents such as electronic schematic drawings, technical manuals, blueprints, and system/sub-system drawings. 5. Interpersonal Skills: The ability to effectively communicate and work with technical personnel, and customers at all levels. This position is within the Work Category Technician & Admin Supp at Work Level II, Series and Grade GG-0856-11. Major DutiesYou will perform voice system/network switch operations and maintenance.You will read and interpret technical documents such as electronic schematic drawings, technical manuals, blueprints, and system/sub-system drawings.You will provide knowledge of telecommunications equipment, networks, and components, including Digital electronic switching systems, Fiber optic transmission systems, and Network equipment.You will provide Hands-on experience in the administration, operation, and maintenance of telecommunications systems and networks.You will perform switching network configuration and telephony server management administration functions.You will provide programing for unique customer's operation requirement such as call routing, special call handling agents, voice menus announcements and VOIP services.
